Recipe from David @speakeasieruk
David used this glass for this drink. When I first saw these glasses on his Instagram account, I knew I wanted some. Such an elegant glass, in my opinion. Just took me some hunting to finally find them.
This drink is definitely reminiscent of distinguished drinking, in some speakeasy from a bygone era. That era that we all love to enjoy again these days as well.
David recommends a Jamaican rum for this drink. And say’s “if you can’t get a hold of a good Jamaican one, use a pot stilled or blended.”
It also highlights @licor43, that fragrant vanilla delight, which goes so well with the tropical rum. Add in some banana liqueur, to complement the Jamaican, a touch of vanilla from the syrup, and you have a drink, redolent of the tropics.
What a felicitous delight this is!
Ingredients
60ml Rum-Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12yo
30ml Lime Juice
15ml Licor 43
15ml Banana Liqueur-Banane du Brésil
15ml Vanilla Syrup
Egg white or alternative- I’m using Ms. Better’s Miraculous Foamer tonight.
Ok, I added all ingredients to a shaker, dry shook to activate that foamer, then added ice and shook again. strain into your bestest vessel, representing those bygone days, and pretend you are Daisy Buchanan, or Sebastian Flyte.
No Garnish
