Last, and yes, least. This did not score well in the final tally. Another drink from Simon Difford. INGREDIENTS METHOD add all ingredients (except olive) to your shaker and shake briefly with ice. This is short, to achieve controlled dilution. Double strain into a chilled Nick & Nora. GARNISH your green olive. This drink was very disappointing. I […]

Lunar Eclipse
Up as 6th drink for the expedition, Lunar Eclipse. Also from Simon Difford’s site. Another bevvie that involves infusing something beforehand. this drink was surprisingly yum. Some participants likened it to a Bloody Mary, but it was different as well. The tumeric adds a delightful earthy taste to this drink. The pairing of carrot and […]
Luna y Sol
Next up was the evenings winner! This proved a popular flavour profile, and while I actually had a bit of trouble finding the raspberry tea, it was well worth the hunt. The said tequila comes out a vibrant deep carmine red. METHOD Combine all ingredients except beer, and shake with ice. Strain into an ice […]

Negroni with Orange and Prosecco Foam!
Third up was a Negroni with Orange and Prosecco Foam! I practiced this drink on some of my participants earlier in the week. They didn’t have a problem sampling this in the morning, most of us being Jubilados 😉.Now I know this is all by weight, which I did. But volume would probably also work. […]
Tomatini
This one came from Difford Guide. And proved a great drink. INGREDIENTS METHOD The recipe tells me to prep garnish of a Tomolive, but they proved hard to source, so I went with a skewered cherry tomato and a basil leaf. Stir all ingredients over ice, then strain into an ice filled glass. Garnish with […]
Solar Spritz
Total Eclipse of the Bar With the impending eclipse here next week, I decided to go for a theme. I did a search of cocktails that had eclipse in their name, and came up with this little selection. Rob provided the accompanying graphics on his iPad, and so we were off, on an experimental evening […]
