Cantaloupe Paloma
@boozyspells

I saw this recipe and saved it for another time. Like tonight!

I love cantaloupe. When I was a kid, we called these rock melons. I guess because they looked like rocks. And to my family, cantaloupe was the group of sweet melons, other than watermelon, that abounded in summer. Fragrant, redolent of hot, lazy days, and something now, to reminisce about. That kinda free lifestyle you had as a kid. Ahh yeah, the sticky hands, grotty faces, and sheer delight in life’s adventures.

I’m sure most of you remember such times.

Ingredients
30ml Mezcal- Dos Hombres used @doshombres
22.5ml Jasmine infused Agave Syrup
22.5ml Lemon Juice
45ml Cantaloupe Juice
150ml Soda Water

Rim a glass with salt. I used one I just bought, that’s lemon and rose. Looks pretty and doesn’t interfere with the drink too much.

Combine all except soda water in your shaker, add ice, shake that baby like you’re going to gaol (jail). Pour over fresh ice into your nicely prepped and chilled glass.

Garnish
The salt rim and some of your melon bits.

The syrup
In a small saucepan over medium heat, add a cup of agave syrup, and a cup of water, 3-4 jasmine green tea bags. Bring to simmer, and dissolve the sugar, simmer 5 minutes. Cool and strain. Store in the fridge.

I actually made a half serve of this, as I knew I would never use 500mls of this syrup. I do that a lot with syrups, just make as much as I think I will get through.
Just scale down everything.
