This recipe comes from Michael Bentley, from Tiki Recipes and he himself gives credit to Greg Easter for its creation. I used a Cuban Rum, Ron La Progresiva- touted as Cuba’s finest treasure What is kind of amazing about this particular rum, is apparently it’s much more readily available in Europe that in the USA. That’s a bit of a turn up from the usual.
The website does tell me to savour it more like a cognac, but tonight I’m lashing out, using it as a mixer.
This is a fabulous drop, and an equally fabulous drink. So thanks Michael.
- 60ml Jamaican Rum- Appleton Estate Rare Blend
- 20ml dark Cuban Rum-Ron La Progresiva
- 10ml Lemon Juice 10ml Lime Juice
- 10ml Passionfruit Syrup
- 10ml Maple Syrup 3-5 drops Orange Bitters
Shake with ice, then strain over ice. I, like Michael, used a snifter.
