Tumeric Gin Sour

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

As with a lot of you, I’ve read this book. And wanted to experiment with my iSi whip as well.
I even went so far as buying some disposable gloves for this recipe. As much as I hate single use plastic, I would hate this staining every single thing it touched. Fresh turmeric in food is delightful, but it’s a shit of a thing as far as stains go.

I also covered my chopping board with a piece of wrap.

And it’s Gin Month still, and I wanted to do something special.

I added the egg white to this drink, as I wanted it to look pretty as well.
And because it’s turmeric, I thought I would decorate it with some stuff we bought in India a few years ago as well.

The gin is Tanqueray, infused with the fresh turmeric, as per the book, and also available on the iSi website as well.

  • 60ml turmeric infused gin
  • 22.5ml lime juice
  • 20ml simple syrup
  • 4.5ml saline solution (20%)
  • 1ml Orange bitters

Add the gin to a shaker with all other ingredients, add ice, shake, and serve in a cold coupe.
I also added the egg white, so dry shakes first, then continued with the steps, as above.
Enjoy!
