Cherry Blossom Margarita
Matthew Benevoli, of Craft Cocktail Club.
Matthew posted this drink way back last year. And I sat on the recipe, just waiting till I found Sakura Liqueur. Well, I did find it. But out of season for fresh cherry blossoms. But I did have some dried Peony petals, that sufficed nicely.
Matthew says it’s his wife’s favourite drink. I’m hoping my friends coming for drinks think that same thought.
I started early with a bit of prep. Using black salt, and the petals. And using simple syrup as the glue.
The glasses looked fantastic after I finished them, if I do say so myself.
Matthew did a series of Sakura tipples. And I will be copying those.
Cherry Blossom Margarita
45ml Cazadores Blanco Tequila- I used Fortazela
20ml Cointreau
20ml Suntory Cherry Blossom Liqueur- mine is Dover brand
20ml Fresh Lime Juice
Garnish
Black Lava Salt and Blossoms
Add all ingredients to a shaker tin with ice, shake for 7-10 seconds. Double strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass with a black salted glass.
Matthew suggests either a rim, or brush stroke style. Obviously, I went with the stroke.
