It’s the cover photo from the book, @bohemiammixology.

David has created some great drinks in this book, with some fantastic photography as well.
I love this book, as I’ve already said multiple times. It highlights the lesser used spirits as the forward flavour.

And this definitely brings that Green Chartreuse to the for. Herbaceous! Yes, definitely very Green in flavour as well as colour. But oh wow.

If you have Chartreuse, then try it out. I highly recommend it.

60ml Green Chartreuse
10ml Basil Simple Syrup
4 dashes Mint Bitters- I used Fee Brothers
2 dashes Chartreuse Elixir Vegetal

Garnish
None, just enjoy the verdant beauty of this little beauty.

Élixir Végétal de la Grande Chartreuse is the original tonic, the elixir of life, first created by Brother Antoine in 1764. (Taken from Difford’s Guide.) Accordingly it is classified as a pharmaceutical product in France.

It’s even higher in alcohol than your regular Green Chartreuse, at 71%ABV.

If you have both these ingredients at your disposal, I would advise you to give it a whirl, and experience the full flavour of a Chartreuse forward drink.
