“I made this drink a while ago but I used grapefruit instead of orange juice. It was good, but now we are in peak navel orange season and I made a much nicer drink.”
I also used navels, only not Aussie ones, ours come from Spain here Karen 😉
It was a perfect accompaniment to follow up on the Nectarine Rye Smash as well.

Groceries for the Queen
- 45mls Gin- I used The Botanist
- 30mls Cherry Heering liqueur
- 22.5mls Amaro Montenegro
- 22.5mls Orange Juice
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters.
- Shaken with ice to chilled. Served over crushed ice.
Garnish with a cherry and orange twist.
