Pilikia
The Shameful Tiki Room, Shea Hogan
Recipe courtesy of Robert Grecht
Robert gave me the recipe for this drink today, and I said I would make it for this evening. My mixing game hasn’t been up to level this week. I’ve felt a bit crappy all week, but a negative PCR shows me as covid free. So that was a relief.
Our brilliant summer continues unabated. Summer? What summer is right. Although I did pick some tomatoes today. They have been struggling to ripen this year. I did end up with a good crop, thanks to Queen B and all the single ladies. That was the bumblebee hive I bought earlier on, in spring, when everything was blooming well.
Then summer never came in schedule. But the bees did a wonderful job. Thanks girls.
- 6 Basil Leaves
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 30ml Fresh Lime Juice
- 30ml Pineapple Juice
- 15ml Falernum- courtesy RummieClub Amsterdam
- 7.5ml Mezcal-Ilegal
- 22.5ml Bourbon-Bulleit
- 30 ml Chambord
Build ingredients in shaker, and hard shake with ice (I don’t have a spindle mixer) Double strain into a Collins Glass filled with crushed ice.
Garnish
Fresh mint (in this case chocolate mint) and a bamboo chopstick that was set on fire. This was the hard part as it was blowing a strong breeze in sunny downtown Amsterdam today
