Royal Hawaiian Cocktail

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Michael (An internet friend) just posted this recipe, and it inspired me to make it. He said his Bay Area had received scorching 40°c temperatures today. Here, in downtown Amsterdam it’s high 20°’s. Blistering for us, kinda 😉

However, I had some fresh pineapple in the fridge, so whipped out my juicer. Pineapple is always such a shitty thing to clean up after with my juicer. The fibres stick everywhere. But anyway, we got juice.

He says in his post it’s a recipe from 1948 at the Royal Moana Hotel.

It is such a refreshing drink. Oh yum!

Recipe is
45ml unsweetened pineapple juice
15ml fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon of Orgeat (dutifully measured)
45ml Gin, I used Bobby’s Schiedam- a Dutch gin distilled with cinema pepper and lemongrass. Equally yum!

Shake with ice cubes and strain into a pre chilled glass of choice.
Here, you may notice it’s a big drink? It’s a double 😉

The pineberries are just for decoration. I picked them this afternoon.
