Joachín Simó Death & Co 2009
@servedbysoberon served up this drink a few days ago on instagram and I wanted make it. It featured cognac as the base spirit, along with some dry Curaçao and a cream sherry.
It’s rich smell and taste, hints of molasses come through on the first sip, and the richness of the sherry. So I would describe it as a very fragrant forward drink.
45ml VSOP Cognac
7.5ml Dry Curaçao
15ml Cream Sherry
15ml Lemon Juice
15ml Maple Syrup
1 barspoon Cinnamon Syrup
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Dry shake everything except the bitters, then dump into a Pilsner glass filled with crushed ice. Swizzle until cold. Add the bitters and swizzle the into the top layer.
Serve with a straw.
Garnish
Book says no garnish, but I used mint, like @servedbysoberon
Enjoy
