Drunken Lucky Charms

Rating: 3 out of 5.

by Rob Prohaska
Rob wanted a St. Patrick’s Day themed cocktail today. I told him to find one, and he came back with this. Today, maybe he wants to be Rob O’Prohaska. I don’t think he even has a drop of Irish blood in him. But I think for everyone else in the western world, they can usually count at least one ancestor from there.

Allegedly, there were over a million issued in 2022, and that the total in existence is 5 times the population of the country. Amazing bit of trivia for next time you are in a pub quiz on a St Patrick’s Day.

Ingredients:
60ml Irish whiskey-Red Breast 12yo
30ml fresh lemon juice
22.5ml simple syrup
15ml green crème de menthe-Bols
1/2 oz blue Curaçao-Bols (yes, I need to upgrade)
1 dash of Angostura bitters-I went with Big Bear Bitters, from Crude Small Batch
1 egg white
Mint sprig and lemon wheel for garnish

Instructions:
Add the Irish whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, green crème de menthe, blue curacao, Angostura bitters, and egg white to a cocktail shaker.
Shake the mixture vigorously without ice for about 10-15 seconds to froth the egg white.
Add ice to the shaker and shake again for an additional 10-15 seconds.
Strain the mixture into a chilled glass, or a pot of gold, if you happen to have one handy.

Garnish with a mint sprig and lemon wedge, and serve immediately.

If you have Lucky Charms, add some marshmallows to the top for garnish. #DrinksBitch
