How to Kill a Friend

Rating: 4 out of 5.

From Imbibe

Shouldn’t it be more like, ‘How to Save a Friend’?

A slight twist on a Jungle Bird, with a sweet/tart taste. Yes, it goes beautifully with the smoky goodness that is Mezcal. Tonight I’m using Banhez, from @banhezmezcalartesanal, a farmer and family owned brand from Oaxaca, Mexico.

I’m not really sure who created this cocktail, but it wasn’t me. It could be Paul Shanrock, as he is mentioned in the article, but not credited with the creation, or riff.

45ml Mezcal- Banhez used
22.5ml Campari
15ml PX sherry
7.5ml Triple Sec-Cointreau used
45ml Pineapple Juice
15ml Fresh Lime Juice
4 dashes Angostura bitters

To Put Together
Combine all of the ingredients in a shaker tin with ice and shake to chill. Strain into you selected glass over ice and :-

Garnish
Mint

It’s been another beautiful Spring day here, and this will top it off nicely. Fresh mint, from my roof. Just need a bit more warmth to get it growing nicely. Along with all my other stuff up there.
And Queen Bee and all her Single Ladies are doing a fine job pollinating everything. I’m hoping for a bumper crop of strawberries, cherries and more, later on in the season. My bees – I buy as a hive, from a place in Belgium. They come as a hommelkast, a bumblebee nest, already set up. All I have to do is put it somewhere safe, and they do the rest.

Ironically, it just started to rain as the photo was going to be taken.
