Terrible Love

How often, I wonder, does a cocktail get named after a song?
The National, hailing from Cincinnati, although forming in Brooklyn. They are up there with my favourite bands. The song itself, was performed on Jimmy Fallon, 2 months before its official release. The album ‘High Violet’ has some great songs, (well I my opinion anyway) and Terrible Love is the opening track. Matt Berninger’s baritone as the lead vocalist makes for a pleasant change…..as did this drink.

It’s a Suze forward drink, that is definitely not sweet. Like a terrible love, I guess!
It’s a recipe created by Death & Co, and I found it on Mixel.

As follows:-
45ml Jovan Mezcal-Ilegal
22.5ml Suze
15ml St Germain
A dash of Orange Bitters

Stir all the ingredients over ice, then strain into a chilled coupe, over a large ice cube.
Garnish with a grapefruit twist.
And enjoy 😊
