Esplanade Mezcal Swizzle using RummieClub Falernum
Recipe from Danny Shapiro Sink/Swim Chicago via Imbibe Magazine
30ml Amontillado Sherry
22.5ml Fresh Lime Juice
15ml Ginger Syrup 1:1
Combine all ingredients in a Collins Glass, fill the glass halfway with crushed ice. Stir using the swizzle stick. Top the glass with more crushed ice.
Mint sprig and swizzle stick.
As Imbibe says, this is a nutty, earthy departure from a typical rum based Tiki drink.
I was given some Falernum to try, and I’m looking for recipes that will showcase the Falernum well. The Falernum was made by RummieClub, a local rum distillery here in Amsterdam. Judith de Bie, owner and distiller, kindly gave me a bottle to try it out in a few drinks.
